I like visiting the farmer's market at the weekend. The concept for the farmer's market is, if they sell it directly, they can get more money. The concept is good, but it has practical difficulties. Farmers will have time for farming; they won't come to market to sell. They won't have marketing ability and won't have the necessary transport facilities if they are small farmers.
The market I visit has lady vendors. Maybe they are from the family of farmers. All type of vegetables and spinach are available. But everything is bit costly. Reason is these vendors have to pay rent for the place, they have to come to city from village to sell etc...
But one big positive thing is so many lady vendors earn money. When a woman came out to work, whatever problem they have in life will become small, they can concentrate on some useful work and also get money.
Though why they created farmer's market did not happen perfectly, it became useful to those lady vendors. When we try to do one good thing, some times unexpected good result will happen.
Raining here, and I did not go to market today and miss it.
